How It Works

Personalized plans for your dog's unique needs

At Focused Fido we personalize our behavior plans to meet the unique goals of each dog and their family. All training clients start with an initial lesson — in person or virtual — where we gather the information we need to curate a training plan and determine the best package of sessions for your family.

Some dogs, for whatever reason — environmental or genetic — can be prone to deep-rooted struggles. Undesired behavior can be worrisome, even embarrassing, and in some cases dangerous. It can stem from many things, but the most important part is learning how to help them.

  • Held in your home or wherever the behavior is happening
  • Reactivity, fear, separation anxiety, barking, and apartment-living challenges
  • A judgment-free approach for both ends of the leash

Behavior modification FAQs

Where does training take place?

Our private lessons are held in the comfort of your home — or wherever the behavior is happening (for example: the park, your neighborhood, or public places).

Do I need any training tools for my lesson?
  • A 4–6 ft non-retractable leash
  • 50–100 pea-sized treats — a mix of mid-value treats and high-value foods like cheese or chicken works great for initial lessons
  • Either a flat collar or a harness with a front attachment
  • A hip pouch for treats is handy, but not required
My dog is barking at other dogs and people — can you help?

Yes. Some dogs, be it environmental or genetic, can be prone to deep-rooted struggles. Undesired behavior can be worrisome and even embarrassing for the parent, visitors, and of course the dog. In some cases it can be dangerous or contribute to unhealthy development.

Undesired behavior can stem from many things, but the most important part is learning how to help them — and that's exactly what our behavior modification programs are designed to do.

Big feelings? We can help.

Fill out our booking form and we'll reach out by email within 1–2 business days to set up your initial consultation.
