Puppy biting is a common and natural activity for young dogs — it's their way of interacting and exploring the world. But it's not so fun for you!
Ignoring biting is a bad idea because it is self-reinforcing; reacting negatively or punishing biting can also reinforce and escalate it. Redirecting your new puppy to a chew item, plush toy, or fun tug toy is a great technique to implement from day one in their new home.
